### Responsibilities
This Realty Specialist position is located in the Real Estate Leasing Branch, Chief Administrative Office Division, within the Office of Financial Administration (OFA), Transportation Security Administration (TSA), Department of Homeland Security (DHS). If you are selected for this position, you will serve as a Realty Specialist for complex and challenging activities across the entire real estate acquisition process for the Office of Chief Administrative Officer. Typical duties include but are not limited to:
* Preparing documentation to support legal counsel in applying remedies available in real estate transactions.
* Analyzing and evaluating pertinent market data and other real estate information that supports acquisition.
* Negotiating interest in real property, modifications to existing contracts, and re-negotiating leases, renewals, or succeeding lease agreements.
* Applying pertinent federal acquisition and real estate laws and statutes for the acquisition, management and disposal of real property.
* Coordinating with program managers and customers on matters concerning regulatory requirements.
* Serving as a technical point of contact for Contracting Officers on implementing broad real estate acquisition policies, directives, and procedures.
* Reviewing internal processes and real estate acquisition program activities.

### Qualifications
**To qualify for the SV-H Pay Band** (equivalent to GS-12), you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the SV-G Pay Band or GS-11 in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector. **Specialized experience**is defined as experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience includes:
* Assisting in analyzing and evaluating information pertinent to real estate transactions;
* Reviewing processes concerning real estate acquisitions program activities; **AND**
* Providing advice and guidance to other realty specialists, lease administrators, internal and external customers and other stakeholders

**Conditions of Employment:**
* This position requires a Level II Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C), per Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Acquisition Workforce Policy Number: 064-04-002, Revision Number: 00, dated June 30, 2011. Applicants must possess a DHS or Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Level II FAC-C certification (copy required). Applicants not certified may still apply and be selected, but must be able to achieve certification within 18 months of appointment.
**Eligibility to apply for other Federal positions:** TSA is an Excepted Service agency exempt from most of Title 5 United States Code, including regulations which apply to displaced Federal employees (CTAP/ICTAP) of other agencies, and employment with TSA does not confer "Competitive Status" that generally results from selection and service in Competitive Service agencies.
